You didn't show it to me, you gave it to Sven and he hugged it for hours and then everything was over and now I don't know anything about it besides the fact that it has lots of tables :-P This online RPG, however, I do know something about ;-)

Gee, I'm sorry, I didn't see that only Sven had it and didn't hand it over to you. :-( Because I really would have appreciated a comment from you. Sorry, again.

Hey, no worries, I was anxious to start playing - it's not like he refused to hand it over ;-)

I noticed your code on google code. Which of the two projects is the farthest along? Which would someone want to use if they wanted to build their own web rpg? It's really awesome that you've made the code available to the public!

Hi Andrew, the code in the google repository is not the most current code running on the test server. I hope there will be another commit after I get some much-needed refactoring done ;-) Of both projects, popsickle-fb will be the most functionally advanced code, probably for a while - so you should use that (however you'd have to modify it if you don't want to make a Facebook app). The main problem right now is documentation. While the code is OK and pretty stable, creating content without the documentation would be very hard. At some point, I'll probably commit the "Popsickles of Nerdia" adventure content into the repository as an example. If you want to do a browser RPG, you should head over to Facebook and have a look at the game, because it is very heavily based on the modus operandi of a typical Facebook game. For example, the engine does not do classical "dungeon map" style gameplay. (That's going to be a future project, hehe.) Let me know what you would like to do and I'll help you get started if the engine is right for your project! :-) |
