docstoc: Free Document Templates Date: 2007-09-27 09:03:50
Techcrunch is giving out invites for docstoc, describing the startup's website as aiming to be "the YouTube for professional documents". You have to ask yourself how bad people think your ability to grasp new concepts is, when they start to explain every share-your-stuff site as "the YouTube for XYZ". Are people really that limited?
Anyway, the signup process for docstoc is amazingly painless, you don't even have to wait for a confirmation email or something you can just log on. Compare that with the horrible, horrible signup form AOL has put in place for things like XDrive, where I literally couldn't read the captcha and afterwards my registration data was somehow lost completely.
Docstoc has a really nice, clean interface and there are already tons of cool documents available even though it's just in beta right now. I must say, this is something I have been waiting for, because rummaging through the web on some scavenger mission for documents is not really my idea of fun.
Check it out!
