Hey nugget, so you want to become a software developer. Maybe you already have written some basic programs in school, maybe you have tried out some web development tutorial. Maybe you don't know anything, that is fine, too. This book will give you a good starting point and introduce you to a boatload of important programming concepts.

There are many programming languages out there, but this is yours. Its name is Ruby and it wants to be your best friend. During the cours of this tutorial, you will learn how to write sotware with the Ruby programming language. But, as you may understand much later in your fledgling programming career, everything you have learned here can be applied to many other programming languages as well.
